Course Description
This course will offer an engaging introduction to generative artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on how these technologies are transforming creativity, communication, and knowledge creation. Applications of AI, ethical considerations and its impact on society will be included. You’ll learn tips for keeping your AI use safe, but also how you can make everyday tasks easier and more fun. No prior technical knowledge is required, just curiosity and a willingness to explore AI.

Sharon Lauricella
Sharon Lauricella is the inaugural Teaching Scholar in Residence at Ontario Tech University in Oshawa, Ontario. She holds a position as a full professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and is a Scholar of Communications and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Sharon holds a doctoral degree from the University of Cambridge (UK), A BA from Wheaton College, Massachusetts and a Certificate in Higher Education Teaching from the Derek Bok Centre of Teaching and Learning at Harvard University.
