Parking at Glendon – What You Need to Know

Parking at Glendon is easy once you know the steps!

Please note that cash is NOT accepted.

You can pay using a credit card of debit card, either:

  • with your cell phone (recommended), or
  • at a kiosk machine in the parking lot.

Parking Rates:

  • $1.75 per half-hour
  • Maximum: $15.00/day (Upper Lots) or $10.00/day (Lower Lots)
  • Saturday: $7:00 (Upper Lots) or $5.00/day (Lower Lots)
  • Sunday: $5.00 (All Lots)

A small administrative fee ($0.35) is added when usig the HONKMobile app.

The Easiest Way: Use the HONKMobile App

Many LLIR members have found that after a one-time setup, using the HONKMobile app is the quickest and easiest way to handle parking – and you don’t have to stand at a machine in bad weather.

How to get the App:

  1. Go to your phone’s app store:
    • Google Play Store (for Android phones)
    • Apple App Store (for iPhones)
  2. Search for HONKMobile.
  3. Download and open the app.

Setting up the HONK app — Step by Step

Don’t worry if technology isn’t your strong suit. Once you set it up the first time, it’s smooth sailing.

  1. Open the app and Create an Account:
    • Enter your name, email address, and license plate number. The app allows you to pre-enter and save several vehicle plate numbers for later use.
    • You can select the appropriate plate number when making your actual reservation.
    • Add your payment card information.
  2. Allow Location Services if your phone asks – this helps the app find where you are.
  3. You are ready to go!

When You Arrive at Glendon:

  1. Park your car in a legal spot.
  2. Open the HONK app.
  3. The app will suggest the lot code based on where you are:
    • 7721 for Upper Lots (A or B)
    • 7722 for Lower Lots (F or G)
  4. Select the lot, the amount of time you will need, confirm your plate number, and make your payment.
  5. Done! You don’t need a paper receipt to display on your dash.

Tip: If your session is ending soon, the app will send you a reminder — and you can extend your time without leaving your classroom. (Please mute your phone while class is in progress.)

Other Ways to Pay (if you don’t want to use the app)

Option 1: QR Code

  • At the parking lot, you will see a sign with a QR code.
  • Use your phone camera to scan the code.
  • Follow the easy steps on your screen

Option 2: Parking Kiosk Machine

  • Find the payment machine in the parking lot.
  • Pay with Visa, Mastercard, or debit card.
  • Enter your license plate number when prompted.

Done! You don’t need a paper receipt for your dashboard.

A Few Helpful Reminders:

  • You can pre-book your parking on your phone app, before you leave home – just ensure your start time/date is after 7:30 a.m. on class day (the system resets every day at 7:30 a.m.)

Accessible Parking:

  • There are a few accessible parking spots in the Upper Lot A. If you have an Ontario Accessible Parking Permit, you must still pay the regular parking fee.

Avoid Parking Fines:

  • Fines for unpaid or expired parking are now $75! Please always park in marked spots and pay for your time.
